The new Courtyard Marriott will host a grand opening and ribbon cutting on Thursday, June 18, 2009. The event entitled, "A Courtyard Ribbon Cutting Shine with the Stars," will take place from 4:00 to 6:30 p.m. Host partners include Texas Roadhouse, Olive Garden, On the Border and Red Lobster. Mark Whatley and Robert Stock, owners of Greenbelt Flooring, held their ribbon cutting last Friday, September 26. Whatley and Stock have a 1000 sq. ft "green" showroom featuring carpets distributed by Mohawk, Beaulieu and Shaw; including wood floors, ceramic tile and vinyl plank flooring. "We are going to build a 3000 sq. ft. showroom in about 18 months," Whatley said. Whatley, in the carpet business for 25 years and Stock a custom homebuilder with Energywise Solutions, started their new company this past June. DATCU recently opened a new branch in Aubrey and held a ribbon cutting last Monday, August 11 to celebrate its eight location. The event was sponsored by the Aubrey Chamber of Commerce. The new branch is located at 919 Hwy 377 South and it is a full service facility which includes a drive through teller service, real estate loans, insurance, an ATM and a variety of additional services and products. Photo courtesy of the Argyle Chamber of Commerce Last Thursday, June 5, the Argyle Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting to help Wazoo's - Indoor Inflatable Center kick off their summer fun season. The event included an open house and free kid play. Wazoo's, a franchise owned by Leslie Manuel, opened in January and offers a fun and playful atmosphere for kids of all ages. The center will offer their next Parent's Night Out June 13. The event is open to children from 5-12 years of age. Kids will get pizza and a drink. The Denton Area Teacher's Credit Union (DATCU) hosted a ribbon cutting for the grand opening of their Wise County Branch in Decatur. The event took place last Thursday, April 3rd.
