Today, the U.S. Government updated Recovery.gov, the Web site they use to track funding designated under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. Through the Web site, taxpayers may now view each fund recipient in their city and state and find out how they are using recovery funds. The State of Texas was granted $16,880,053,426 in recovery funds in February. Of those, $4,321,561,394 has been paid out to date leaving $13,150,869,871 funds still available in forms of federal contracts, grants and loans, according to the site data. Data on the site was provided by federal agencies receiving Recovery Act funds. Already we found discrepancies in the information provided - there is close to $12,558,492,032 funds still available in the State not $13,150,869,871 as the site states.
