A moving semi-truck was parked outside the newly built LA Fitness off Loop 288 on Monday afternoon and sources say it's filled with the long-awaited fitness equipment.
The equipment is set to move inside the building on Tuesday, with hopes of opening up the fitness center within the next two weeks -- if not this weekend, said Herman Torres, an employee of LA Fitness.
In May, the Denton Record-Chronicle reported the opening of LA Fitness had been delayed for months, following the bankruptcy of the developer of the retail shopping space where LA Fitness resides, DBSI Inc.
However, as the delays stretched out from the beginning of 2009, Denton customers paying to workout at the Denton facility became enraged, since the delays affected their ability to fulfill resolutions for a healthier lifestyle.
If a grand opening happens in the next two weeks, LA Fitness customers would finally be able to step through the doors of the facility they'd been paying for nearly six months.
