We want to congratulate Jorge Urbina of Urbina Law & Title / Capital Title. He recently received the 2008 Minority Small Business Champion of the Year Award from the District and Region VI of the Small Business Administration. He received the recognition at a luncheon ceremony in Arlington last May 1st. Born and raised in Eagle Pass, Urbina is the current president of the Denton Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, a position he has held for the past seven years. He is also the vice president of the Denton Assistance Center, a grassroots movement to help non-profits create a new facility for their operations and served for the past 12 years on the board of the Interfaith Ministries of Denton. Urbina is married to Patty and has three children, two sons, David, 21 and Tomas, 17 and a 12-year-old daughter, Susana. The recent Denton Chamber newsletter described Urbina as a "tireless and positive force in this community," exemplifying a high level of quality and integrity that exceeds expectations. District and Region VI of the SBA includes the states of Oklahoma, Arkansas, New Mexico, Lousiana and all of Texas. Known to say, "Let's take baby steps" and "Let's do it together," Urbina wants to provide his talents and energy to building coalitions that will help the community in Denton.
